The Healing Tradition Behind the Balm
Native Americans used crushed plantain leaves as a poultice to draw out venom and reduce inflammation from insect bites. The plant's allantoin and mucilage content, similar to ingredients in modern healing ointments like Neosporin, are believed to help speed up wound healing. It was also used to alleviate itching and pain from bites and stings. Following the Native American recipe, our handcrafted Bug Bite Balm is a powerhouse blend of grass-fed tallow, beeswax, and wild-harvested plantain leaf. Traditionally used for generations, plantain is recognized for its ability to soothe itching, reduce inflammation, and promote wound healing. We pair it with nutrient-rich tallow and beeswax to create a deeply moisturizing balm that locks in hydration and supports your skin’s natural repair process.

How to Work The Magic
With clean, dry hands, massage a pea-sized amount into the bite or tender skin 2–3 times daily or whenever extra comfort is needed. Avoid broken skin and open wounds—this works best on closed, healing areas.
Every salve, lotion, cream, scrub, tincture and infused oil I craft is made by hand in small batches using my unique infusion method. I personally grow or forage every ingredient, so I know their origin and the care behind their growth. My mission is to capture the full healing power of each herb and blend it deeply into the oils. The result? A collection of remedies that not only feel nurturing and gentle but deliver truly remarkable results. Due to the care and time for each item, products can take between 1-5 days to ship.
HOW DO I STORE MY PRODUCTS?
I do not use any preservatives in my products, so some may require refrigeration to prevent spoiling. Depending on your climate and the season, your salve may be as soft as a creamy ointment or as firm as a thicker balm. That’s completely normal! Avoid leaving them in hot cars or direct sunlight to prevent melting. If your salve gets too soft, pop it in the fridge and it will firm back up.
HOW MUCH PRODUCT DO I USE?
Think “just enough to cover the area.” For most situations, that’s about the size of a pea — applied 2–3 times a day as needed. A tiny scrape will use much less than a sore muscle or achy joint where you’re massaging it in.
CAN I USE THE PRODUCTS ON BABIES OR SENSITIVE SKIN?
You should always test a small area to ensure you do not react to any of the ingredients. Skip salves with menthol, camphor, peppermint, or eucalyptus for little ones..
